Hi everyone!
It's me, Patrick, yet again to bring you another update to the website. This update is really a compounding update of everything that has been released in the last 2 months (which is a lot, if I look at the list). So, let's get into the new stuff and see what new toys you get to play with. As always, join the Discord (https://discord.gg/ESpP2CU4g5) if you want to hear about this stuff straight away when it comes out.
I think this has been a feature request ever since I started the website. Initially, I didn't build the deckbuilder with the sideboarding in mind so it took some time to make space and properly add the sideboard logic in place. But that has been done! You can now see the sideboard while you are creating/editing your decks and you can easily move cards between your deck and sideboard.
Sideboards are currently shown on the deck detail, they are only missing in the "Export as image", something that I am hoping to pick up very soon. So I hope you are happy with the sideboard functionality and that you continue to use the deckbuilder for all your competitive games!
Filters were due for an update. The filters didn't scale correctly on phone, you had to know what the filters were actually doing when combined and it was just a mess. But not anymore!
The filter button will now open up a sidepanel which allows you to add various filters to your overviews. After adding them, you'll also see a sentence on what your filters are doing. Additionally, if you have two filters of the same type (Traits = "Vehicle" & "Jedi"), it will allow you to switch between seeing cards containing either or both traits, something that the old system wouldn't let you do. It's also actually mobile friendly now.
Just like the filters, the My Decks page has not been perfect to use. It only showed you the name of your decks, there was no way to filter and it just looked boring. But not anymore!
It now looks and works exactly like the deck overview, allowing you to filter & sort as you expect. Additionally, you can now add folders! Folders allow you to group your favorite decks together so you can easily find them again. (I already have one called "Decks I might win with one day".) This facelift of the page should hopefully be very useful for everyone, especially people with a lot of decks.
This is something that I've wanted to do for a long time, tracking the tournaments. The tournaments give us so much data about which leaders are played, which cards are played. Wouldn't it be great to see that throughout the app? Not sure what to add to your deck, check which card has the highest play rate. This type of data just opens up so many possibilities.
But we are not there just yet. You could see this as the framework for any future integration of the data. The most important thing is gathering the data, which the website is now doing. And some of this data you can already see on the meta page. This page shows you the latest tournaments, along with some nice statistics on the leader winrate and frequently played cards. I hope you find it useful and I am sure it'll become a bigger feature in the months to come.
Nobody likes bugs, so here are some things that you won't have to deal with anymore!
And that's all for now! Thanks to everyone for trying out the website and posting issues in the Discord. If you haven't yet, make sure to check out the Discord and let me know if you encounter any issues with the website (or just to tell me that you love the website!). Till next time!
