$5 SERIES
$5 Series decks are meant to be a starting point if you want to play a leader and don't know where to start.
These decks are built only with common and uncommon cards. Obviously, they are not the best decks, since they do not take into consideration the strongest cards in the game, but they are playable and a very good option for those players who cannot build the top decks seen here because they are missing legendary or rare cards to play in their local stores.
THE LEIA DECK
Leia is one of the best leaders to be played in an aggro strategy. Her ability to attack with 2 units at once is made for aggro.
- Starting Hand
This is an aggro deck, so you have to deal damage as fast as you can. That means that you must play units from the beggining of the game.
Ideallly, your starting hand should have, at least, Sabine and Fleet Lieutenant. Battlefield Marine is also good. Go for mulligan if you don't have 2 of this 3 cards in your hand.
Send to resources 4+ cost units, priorizing to resource ground units instead space units (you have much more ground units in this deck). - Early game
Turn 1: Play a cost-2 unit. Ideally Sabine, but Battlefield Marine or Green Squadron A-Wing are also good.
Turn 2: You must to attack. The only reason to not attack is that you have Fleet Lieutenan in your hand. So, play it and attack with +2.
Turn 3: Don't forget to use Leia's ability and attack with 2 units at once. Then it's time to play Wing Leader or General Dodonna if you drew them. - Mid game
You will deploy Leia on turn 4. Don't forget it :). Leia attacks for 4 and then she allows to attack with another rebel unit (don't worry... all your units are rebel). And, if you have Rebel Assault in your hand, you can attack with Leia for 5, then attack with another unit and last attack with a third unit with +1. Three attacks at once for a single resource!!!
Play Echo Base Defender or Bright Hope if you need Sentinels. Play Strike True or Open Fire to defeat annoying enemy units. Play Medal Ceremony to boost your units. And play Fleet Lieutenant, of course, due to you attack with +2 and play an unit for 1 action. - Late game
The game should not last beyond turn 5. If it does, you're in trouble. By turn 5, the opponent's base should have more than 15 damage, so it's a good idea to play Guerrilla Attack Pod.
Play Strike True and Rebel Assault in order to finish the game as soon as possible.
Take in mind: every turn beyond turn 5 your options of winning decrease.
UPGRADING THE DECK
Here are some ideas to improve the deck as you get a better pool.
- Base: Consider Tarkintown instead of the red regular base.
- Events: Take out Strike True and put in For a cause I believe in. This is a very good change, due to it can be a finisher dealing the last 4 damage and sinergizes with Fighters for freedom.
- Space units: Red Three instead of Bright Hope. It gives Raid 1 to all your units.
- Ground units: K-2SO and Admiral Akbarr instead of General Dodonna and Regional Sympathizers.
That's all from my side. I hope this deck will be useful to you when you start playing Leia or if you don't want to spend a lot of money.
